St. Mary’s is currently working in partnership with Sustainability Victoria to become a ResourceSmart School. This project guides our implementation of sustainability goals into our curriculum, operations and whole school community targets. Sustainability is about taking what we need to live now, while ensuring that future generations have the resources they need to survive and thrive.

Our school vegetable garden provides students with hands-on opportunities to develop science knowledge, environmental awareness and community responsibility.

Our students have implemented a ‘Waste Warrior’ Program to reduce the amount of waste we produce as a community. We encourage ‘Nude Food’ to reduce the amount of plastic packaging in the school.
